Tours2 Puerto Rico runs four and a half hours from Plaza Colón in Old San Juan with a certified guide, covering the two things everyone wants to see — the Yokahú tower and La Coca Falls — and then adding a proper 45-minute hike and an optional river swim.

The drive climbs to around 3,000 feet above sea level. You stop at the Yokahú observation tower for the view over the canopy, then stop again at La Coca Falls — an actual stop, which matters, because the cheaper sightseeing tour only passes it in the vehicle. From there you hike one of the open trails for roughly 45 minutes before reaching a waterhole where swimming is optional rather than the point of the day.

That optionality is what makes it a good fit for mixed groups. Nobody has to jump off anything, there is no rope swing and no waterslide, but there is real forest, a real trail and a swim for whoever wants one. Three hours of the four and a half are spent inside the forest, with a 45-minute van leg each way.

Food, drinks and hotel pickup are not included, and non-swimmers are asked to sit the water section out. Bring insect repellent — the operator names it specifically.
